Professor of Peace and Justice

Her research takes place at the intersection between the fields of International Development, Transitional Justice and Peacebuilding. She's currently interested in research, policy and practice related to the following key themes:

Agency, activism and identity in societies facing a past of large-scale violations of human rights.
Care and its relationship to violence, peace, and peacebuilding practice.
The politics of knowledge in and on societies facing a past of large-scale violations of human rights.
Inclusive knowledge, democratising research, and the role of the university.
The politics, ethics, and practicalities of Global South-North research partnerships.

Briony also support the work of the Working Group on Transitional Justice and SDG 16, and I am a founding member of Oxford Transitional Justice Research. She previously played the roles of Co-Chair of the Human Rights and Transitional Justice Standing Group of the European Consortium for Political Research, and Advisory Board Member of TRIAL International (Track Impunity Always) and the Centre for Community Driven Research.
