Mr. Pablo Imbach is Climate Action Lead at CATIE (Tropical Agricultural Research and Higher Education Center) in Costa Rica, where he coordinates research and technical assistance on climate change, risk reduction, and sustainable land use. He holds a PhD in Environmental Sciences from the University Pierre Marie Curie (Paris 6) and has more than 20 years of international experience in Latin America, Southeast Asia, and Africa. His expertise combines environmental modeling, climate services, agriculture, hydrology, biodiversity, and Nature-based Solutions (NbS). Pablo has led multidisciplinary teams and projects with governments, NGOs, and UN agencies, bridging research and policy to strengthen adaptation, resilience, and decision-making. His professional focus includes scaling up NbS, developing climate services networks, and integrating short- and long-term planning horizons into climate adaptation strategies.
