o Sergiusz Sidorowicz is DDR Policy and Planning Officer in the Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration Section in the United Nations Department of Peace Operations, covering files related to peacekeeping operations (such as MINUSCA in the Central African Republic), Special Political Missions (such as UNSMIL in Libya) and other country- or region-specific contexts (such as Cameroon or the Middle East). He brings seventeen years of experience in the United Nations, both from the HQ and the Field, his last deployment being the Office of Special Envoy to Yemen in Sana’a (2016-17). Before joining the United Nations, he worked for the Polish Ministry for Foreign Affairs, specializing in multilateral diplomacy, global security affairs and the Middle East. He holds a masters degree on Arabic and Islamic Studies from the University of Warsaw.
