Ambassador Dr. Thomas Greminger is the Executive Director of the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) since May 2021. He is a senior Swiss diplomat who has held key leadership positions within and outside the Swiss federal administration, focusing on security, peace and development.
As Executive Director of the GCSP, Ambassador Greminger addresses some of the most pressing issues on the international agenda, including the future of European security and its institutional architecture, the situation in Ukraine, great power relations-particularly between the United States, China, and Russia-the implications of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, and the evolving concept of Swiss neutrality. Under his leadership, the GCSP has reinforced its position as a unique and indispensable platform for inter-state dialogue and conflict resolution.
Ambassador Thomas Greminger served as Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe (OSCE) from July 2017 until July 2020.
