The ICSS and Save the Dream
The International Centre for Sport Security is a global non-profit organisation established to safeguard sport in terms of safety, security, service and integrity, and to protect the opportunities sport can generate in the socio-economic context. Since 2020, the ICSS leads, jointly with United Nations’ partners, the Global Programme on the Security of Major Sporting Events and the Use of Sport to Prevent Violent Extremism (PVE).
In the 2012, the ICSS has launched, with the support of the Qatar Olympic Committee and Ooredoo, the Technology Partner, the “Save the Dream” initiative.
Working under the guidance of a High-Level Council made of eminent experts in the field of international affairs, peacebuilding and sport, Save the Dream implements and promotes activities to empower youth through safe access to sport and to its educational and social values. Thanks to the generous support of partners such as the Qatar Fund For Development (QFFD), Qatar Charity, the European Union and civil society benefactors, Save the Dream has implemented projects in the field of sport for peace in both post-conflict and crisis areas such as Darfur and Somalia.
