With violent conflict across the globe at its highest levels since the second world war, and development financing by many donors being cut, what you do? You, we, need to start thinking out of the box to stop these repeating patterns, and take a long hard look at what the root causes of conflict, and design more effective and efficient conflict prevention measures. We urgently need to find better ways of incentivising how we work together across sectors since successful conflict prevention is predicated on cooperation across sectoral silos. This is easier said than done! We know that Early Warning Systems are supposedly designed to be the first lines of defence. Yet most partner early warning systems are not designed to focus on root causes of conflict; rather. they tend to focus on symptoms.

This panel spotlights emerging best practice generated by a unique multilateral program spanning three institutions – the WBG, the AU and the UN - to incentivise and inspire new partnerships spanning member states, l Human Rights Institutions, CSOs, UN, MDBs and the private sector.

Strong partnerships can help weather contexts at high risk of conflict by more effectively and efficiently interrupting and breaking repeating cycles of violence through an innovative use inclusive data ecosystems underpinned by symbiotic intelligence (SI) that blends AI, machine learning and human intelligence. Tune in to hear about the experiences of this group of organizations trying to re-imagine conflict prevention to help bridge the perennial challenge of going from early warning to early action.
